Why do you need this program?

OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard, 1910.1200 requires that each employer must provide their employees access to material safety data sheets for each hazardous material in the work place.

DOT 49 CFR 172.604 requires that each shipper of hazardous materials must have a 24-hour emergency response phone number listed on their shipping papers. Pro Compliance developed our MSDS-ER number to offer a low cost, easy-to-use solution to both of these regulations.

How does it work?

Due to recent changes in the Hazard Communication Standard, off-site or electronic MSDS files are now allowed. Pro Compliance has developed a system where the employee can simply call a 1-800 number and request any MSDS. The requested MSDS is then faxed to your location, fulfilling all hazard communication requirements. Another 1-800 number can also be used to fulfill the DOT emergency response phone number requirements.

This is not your typical fax-back type system; a live operator answers the telephone and can fill an MSDS request or aid in the event of a DOT emergency.
