DOT Audit
Employers classified as commercial motor carriers must operate in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
RCI's DOT Audit is the first step toward determining the effectiveness of your current transportation compliance program. RCI's DOT Audit is an on-site evaluation of your compliance program. Safety controls such as driver's hours of service, maintenance and inspections, and driver qualifications are reviewed by a trained RCI Safety Consultant. Let RCI review your DOT requirements before DOT conducts a compliance review to determine whether you meet their safety fitness standard.
During the evaluation, we review the safety management controls currently in place, including the systems, policies, programs, practices, and procedures used by the motor carrier to ensure compliance with applicable safety and hazardous materials regulations. RCI then provides a detailed report of the findings with suggested actions to improve your safety management. By implementing these recommendations, you may be able to avert being assigned a conditional safety rating, or worse, an unsatisfactory safety rating which could put you out of business.
RCI's DOT Audit, which mirrors DOT's audit form, looks at all aspects of the motor carrier's program, including:
• General Requirements
• Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs
• Accident Recordkeeping Requirements
• Qualifications of Drivers
• Driver Hours of Service
• Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance
• Transportation of Hazardous Materials
• Cargo Tank Requirements
